Surimu Fukushi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.

From a young age, he started taking ballet classes and realized he had a deep attachment to this art form.

Eventually, he moved to Monaco to study at Académie Princesse Grace with hopes to dance professionally.

After graduation, he was offered a job at Ballett Zürich. There he was able to explore the fuller spectrum of dance and found a new joy and freedom in the more contemporary works. He said, “Oh, I want to do more of this!” And joined Nederlands Dans Theater where he was exposed to many different ways of being an artist.

For him, performing can be a way to escape reality where he can dive into a character that is made out of his fantasies and his true self.

Apart from dancing and performing, he has interests in photography, drawing, film, and music.

In daily life, he enjoys finding interesting moments and situations and capturing them. because if you pay attention, the world is a big museum and cinema.
